Letting you know how my boys are doing.

The US Men’s national team is participating in the Gold Cup right now which is a tournament of National teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean Islands.

The US advanced through group play unbeaten and in first place. Stuart Holden had a crazy goal to tie against Haiti (yes, Haiti… it’s our D Team ok.) and you can should check it out here – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJeTDvQsMsk

The US plays Panama this Saturday in the quarterfinals. The US beat Panama in the 2005 Gold Cup Final in Pk’s and won the 2007 Gold Cup Final against Mexico 2-1 with Benny Feilhaber’s goal a beauty. You can check that one out here – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcGA2W4d5_E

The US has brought what some might consider to be their D team to the Gold Cup this year. They are resting their starters and veterans after they returned from the Confederations Cup. They did, however, bring a current starter. The 23 year old Charlie Davies has been impressing for his club team and has just made a move into the French League. He has earned himself a starting spot on the National Team and looks to raise his stock a little more in the Gold Cup.

Make sure to also watch National Team Starter Oguchi Onyewu this next few weeks as he tours America with his new club team AC Milan in the World Football Challenge. He will be playing the likes of Inter Milan and Chelsea and should be exciting to watch.
